GPA Classification System

GPA has developed a unique system for calculating shooter classifications. It is based on a MATCH score, not just one stage. Our software pulls the data from each GPA match and (as long as you have registered and have a member number) calculates your percentage of the match PAR time. This number is your Score Index (SI), which determines your classification. The rolling calculation uses your most recent five matches to average your performance.

SCORE INDEX is determined by dividing the match PAR by your match result.

         – If someone completes a match with a result of 42.7 seconds and Match PAR is 51.0, their Score Index would be: (51÷42.7=1.1943) X 100 = 119.43

         – If another shooter completes the match with a result of 91.7 seconds and Match PAR is 51.0, that person’s Score Index would be: (51÷91.7=.5561) X 100 = 55.61

GPA’s CLASSIFICATION hierarchy is based on Score Index.

     Platinum: 99 or higher

     Gold: 78 – 98.99

     Silver: 54 – 77.99

     Bronze: 25 – 53.99

     Pew-Pewter: 0 – 24.99

Unlike golf, the better you shoot, the higher your score index will be and the higher you will be classified!

Your SI allows you to compare your level with that of other shooters and allows you to gauge your development and growth. It also lets you look within your own division and see in detail how you stack up against others shooting in that division.
